Renovation Bliss: A Home Makeover with Style and Storage!
When it comes to home renovations, there’s nothing quite like the excitement of seeing your space transform before your eyes. Our latest project was all about giving a house some serious curb appeal and a fresh interior that’s as functional as it is fabulous. From cedar accents to custom kitchen details, this home makeover had us grinning from ear to ear—and now, so are the homeowners!
Exterior Glow-Up: Cedar and Charm
First things first: the exterior needed a little TLC. We swapped out the old, tired look for a stunning new facade featuring cedar soffits and cedar shakes in the gables. The natural wood tones add warmth and texture, making the home feel welcoming even from the street. And let’s not forget the new front door—a bold, stylish upgrade that greets visitors with the perfect mix of modern and timeless charm
Kitchen Goals: Mixed Materials, Maximum Style
Inside, the kitchen was all about combining different materials for a space that’s both practical and beautiful. We started with cherry cabinets for the lower storage, adding a touch of richness to the space, and then introduced black metal and glass doors for a sleek, industrial vibe. The contrast between the cherry wood and the painted cabinets gave the kitchen a balanced, eclectic feel that’s anything but cookie-cutter.
One of the homeowners’ wishes was to let in more natural light, so we added a larger window above the sink at the rear elevation. Now, washing dishes comes with a view! Above the uppers, we installed open shelving complete with a champagne bronze shelf rail for a little touch of glam. The shelves not only give extra storage but also allow for some pretty display moments—because who doesn’t love showing off their cute mugs and fancy spice jars?
The Custom Island: Heart of the Home
The custom island was a must-have for this renovation. It’s not just a statement piece, but also a practical hub for day-to-day activities and entertaining. Whether it’s prepping dinner or laying out snacks for guests, the island adds valuable countertop space and storage, while also bringing people together in the heart of the home. Full-height pantry cabinets were also added for extra storage, because let’s face it, you can never have too much storage in a kitchen.
Great Room: Opening Things Up
To create a more spacious and inviting living area, we combined two smaller rooms into one large great room that stretches from the front to the back of the house. A custom banquette was added for cozy seating and—of course—more storage. On one side of the fireplace, we added a bar area with sleek metal-fabricated shelving above the cabinets to balance the built-ins on the other side. It’s the perfect spot to serve drinks and snacks, keeping guests entertained and (most importantly) out of the kitchen!
Ensuite Retreat: Tile Heaven
The ensuite got a major upgrade with a herringbone tile floor and custom tile wainscoting around the toilet area for that extra bit of elegance. The tile shower includes niches for storage and looks every bit the custom masterpiece. It’s like stepping into a boutique hotel, but better—because it’s all yours!
Mud Room Magic
For a family on the go, the mud room needed to be both functional and stylish. We added cabinets and drawers to meet the growing family’s needs, providing ample storage for all those coats, shoes, and backpacks that seem to multiply overnight.
In the end, this renovation wasn’t just about making the home look great—it was about making it work for the family’s lifestyle. With its mix of materials, smart storage solutions, and a fresh, open layout, this home is ready to handle everything from cozy family dinners to full-on entertaining. And really, what more could you ask for?
