A Bright and Breezy Renovation: From vaulted ceilings to hardwood floors
There’s nothing quite like the excitement of seeing your home transform before your eyes. In this renovation, we took a home from cozy to open and bright, with just the right amount of style and personality. From the new front door and sidelight to a chic wet bar in the basement, every detail was carefully crafted for a modern, yet timeless, vibe. Let’s dive into the fun details!
Front Door Drama (in a Good Way)
The first thing we tackled? The front door. A new front door and sidelight brought in tons of natural light, instantly brightening up the entryway. Now, instead of walking into a dim hallway, you’re greeted by sunlight. We carried that light through to the dining room, adding new doors that opened things up and let the light spill into the hall, giving the entire home a fresh, airy feel.
Kitchen Magic: Vaulted Ceilings and Tricky Fixtures
The kitchen was where things got a little more challenging, thanks to those gorgeous—but tricky—vaulted ceilings. Hanging fixtures from such heights can be a delicate balancing act, but we managed to make them work beautifully, adding a stylish focal point to the space.
The kitchen’s design was all about mixing materials. Oak detailing around the hood fan tied in perfectly with the island, creating a harmonious blend of oak and painted cabinets. We even added a little extra flair by including a routered detail at the underside of the uppers for under-cabinet lighting—because good lighting makes all the difference when you’re chopping veggies or pouring your morning coffee.
More Space, More StorageTo create a more open kitchen and entertainment area, we moved a wall between the primary bedroom and kitchen. The result? A roomier kitchen, plus an entertainment area with extra storage and a beverage fridge—perfect for hosting gatherings (or keeping snacks handy for late-night cravings).
Hardwood Floors and a Cleaner Railing
The beautiful oak hardwood floors throughout the main floor brought warmth and continuity to the space. For a sleek, fuss-free look, we installed the railing pickets right into the hardwood floors, keeping the design clean and uncluttered.
Fireplace Finesse
In the living area, we added a stunning herringbone tile surround to the fireplace for a touch of texture.
Ensuite and Powder Room: All About the Details
The ensuite was all about luxury. A freestanding tub with a champagne bronze tub filler and matching shower details created a spa-like atmosphere.
This renovation was all about light, space, and a dash of glam. The homeowners now have a home that’s not only functional but filled with thoughtful details that make everyday living a little more fabulous!
